Ashtead Cottage
Learning Disability Residential Care Home for Adults
Ashtead Cottage specialises in Residential Care for people with Learning Disabilities including autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Challenging Behaviour and ADHD. The home has been managed by Dina Non since the home was taken over by Care Unlimited in 2008, having worked at the home as Support Worker and eventually promoted to Home Manager under the former management.
Ashtead Cottage is ideal for people who require more consistent support or perhaps in preparation for developing their independence before entering supported living.
The home accepts people with various learning disabilities and autism, and new residents would be assessed and placed where mutual compatibility was felt possible with existing residents.
The home has very active social and personal development activities, coordinated alongside Care Unlimited's Weavers Horticulture and Resource Centre, as well as a long-standing partnership with the Bentley Centre in Banstead. Employment, where possible, is encouraged to develop independence and self esteem. The home itself has a spacious well landscaped garden and a brand new activity building where residents can spend time on art and crafts and cookery. Computer access for residents will soon be introduced too with courses available at the Weavers Resource Centre.
