Official statement regarding CQC compliance action plan at Chipstead Lodge

21st October 2011

Chipstead Lodge is now compliant with the CQC issues raised

It is standard procedure for CQC to do a compliance inspection following a Safeguarding Alert. A safeguarding alert was raised in the Summer 2011 and Chipstead Lodge was found to be compliant at this safeguarding. Consequently the CQC inspected Chipstead Lodge, our Residential Care Home. There was one compliance action regarding care planning and one enforcement action regarding medication documentation. To our knowledge no harm came to any individuals at the home as a result of these issues. Both of these have now been addressed in the form of an action plan. We have recently confirmed with the CQC that the enforcement notice has been complied with, and is no longer is in force. We are waiting for the latest CQC report which will be posted on our website soon.

Care Unlimited’s measures to improve quality of service

We have now taken on Andy Gee as our new Area Manger with vast experience in the care sector to support our Home Managers and focus on CQC compliance and quality standards. We have also engaged a consultant (an ex-Regional CQC Manger) to carry out audits of compliance against the essential standards throughout all Care Unlimited homes this will be followed by a client surveys.
