We take this opportunity to welcome Philip to this challenging but exciting role, and to working closely with him on maintaining and developing the good standards at Chipstead Lodge.
Care Unlimited, still an Investor in People
29th February 2012

Care Unlimited is very proud to announce that it has retained its full Investors in People accreditation, following its latest review by IIP assessor Sally Szwarc. Sally has conducted our reviews in the past, and has a very good understanding of the company's history.
The report read: 'Having carried out the assessment process in accordance with the guidelines provided for Assessors by Investors in People – United Kingdom Commission for Employment and Skills, the Assessor is totally satisfied that Care Unlimited meets the requirements of the Investors in People National Standard.'
Areas of good practice included Shared Values, Training, People Management, Social Responsibility, Recognition (employee), Feedback (from senior management) and Continuous Improvement.
Reza Shamtally, partner at Care Unlimited explains: 'It was great to have the review carried out by Sally Szwarc again, and she has clearly acknowledged the many changes and initiatives that have been initiated in the past year to further improve investment in the development, recruitment and retention of our valued staff. This is essential in delivering the highest levels of care and support to our clients'.
Staff at all levels of the business including company partners, were selected at random, and interviewed individually for their feedback on Care Unlimited's ability and commitment as an employer. We would like to thank our staff for the very hard work they have demonstrated to maintain our IIP accreditation, with a special thank you to Lucy Gauntlett, HR Manager for coordinating the review and continuously enhancing staff development. The Home Managers have worked despite very challenging times in the workplace, to continuously improve staff development and support. Finally, we would acknowledge Andy Gee for the significant support he has provided to the Home Managers.
This is very reassuring, and Care Unlimited is now committed to further improvements to hopefully attain a Bronze standard IIP accreditation in 3 years time at our next IIP review.
Fun, Fireworks and Flames at Care Unlimited
18th November 2011

On Friday 4th November, Care Unlimited celebrated Guy Fawkes with residents, staff, relatives and friends.
This was a throroughly enjoyable evening and a great chance for people to meet at the grounds of Chaldon Rise. We also were very pleased to invite our new Supported Living residents who attended in very good numbers. It was also good to see new staff and families from Care Unlimited Dom Care.
The night kicked off with food and drink, courtesy of our Care Homes catering staff. Next, Reza Shamtally and Peter Pacer reunited again to throw on the fireworks display, which went down well with the guests.
Music played out as people then shifted to some fun and games with a raffle and also Jenny's Coconut Shy, enjoyed by kids and adults alike.
For more fun we asked the Homes to compete for Best Guy Fawkes, Best Soup and Best Cake. Chaldon Rise swept up and won all 3 categories, though Chipstead Lodge came close with their fantastic Guy.
We would like thank everyone who helped put on a great night of fun, as well as our guests for making a good attendance. Special mention goes to Elaine, Alison and the Chaldon Rise for organising the venue on the day. Also to Jenny Breach Activity Organiser at Chipstead Lodge for working extremely hard to organise some great attendance from their home and for her hard work planning the evening and running the games. Finally thanks to Deloris at Head Office for coordinating the planning of the event.
We look forward to even greater things in November 2012.
