See photos in our Gallery
On Friday 9th October 2009, we were extremely proud to have 4 of our staff reach the finals at the Surrey Care Awards at the beautiful Denbies Vineyard centre in Surrey. A dozen of us attended the very well organised awards showcasing the hard work and dedication of people working in adult social care within the county - put forward by various independent Care Home operators in Surrey.
The following reached the finals:
* Keith Lawson (Chaldon Rise) - Learner of the Year Award Finalist
* Delores Alcaide (Grennell Lodge) - Support Worker of the Year Finalist
* Erlinda Nerona and Paul Sharp (Chaldon Rise) - Care Home Nutrition Award Finalists
Whilst our finalists just missed out on winning their respective awards, we are very proud and look forward to submitting applications for 2010 awards based on this strong performance.
* Surrey Care Association wrote the following:
Surrey Care Association represents the interests of over 700 care provider organisations in the county and works in partnership with Surrey County Council and other statutory bodies to ensure that standards of care continue to be raised for the benefit of all service users.
“We have been truly overwhelmed by the magnificent response to these awards,” says Erica Lockhart Chief Executive of Surrey Care Association. “Care workers are so often the unsung heroes and we have changed this by recognising their achievements. Our winners and finalists tonight are an inspiration, delivering exceptional standards of care on a daily basis in Surrey, something of which we can all be very proud.“
After the huge success of this year’s awards, Surrey Care Association intends to make the Surrey Care Awards a regular event to continue to raise the profile of adult social care in the county and highlight the rewarding employment opportunities that exist within the sector.
